Safe Sport Policy – Rule of Two

At Zenith Volleyball Club, the safety and well-being of every athlete is our highest priority. We are committed to creating a safe, respectful, and positive environment for all participants.

The Club follows the Rule of Two, a nationally recognized Safe Sport best practice.

Rule of Two

Whenever possible:

Two screened and responsible adults will be present during all training sessions, competitions, meetings, and club activities involving athletes.

One-on-one interactions between a coach and an athlete should occur only when they are observable and interruptible by others.

Private meetings should take place in open and visible areas whenever possible.

Electronic communication with athletes should be transparent and, when appropriate for minors, include parents or guardians.

Transportation arrangements should follow Safe Sport guidelines and avoid one-on-one situations whenever possible.

Commitment

All coaches, staff, volunteers, athletes, and families share responsibility for maintaining a safe environment built on respect, accountability, and athlete welfare.

Zenith Volleyball Club supports the principles of Safe Sport BC and Volleyball Canada’s Safe Sport initiatives and expects all members to uphold these standards at all times.
